| EPR SYS - 405 |
The heart of all different EPR SYS - 405 systems is the source of entangled photon pairs (EPR-source). First published by Kwiat 1995, such university-built sources operate in many quantum optics laboratories around the world. Our experience in electronics and feedback loops to control the drift of typical optical setups allows our system to outperform typical sources operated elsewhere in terms of stability and count rates. This active stabilization is only successful, if enhanced passive stability is also present in the system.
Appropriate focussing is needed to optimize the electric field of the pump laser in the nonlinear crystal. Due to the conservation of energy and momentum, the pair-photons are emitted in rings carrying horizontal and vertical polarised photons. A schematic view is used for the logo (right side): The pump is allocated in the centre, the horizontal and vertical ring systems are indicated as well as the entangled photons, which are only emitted at the intersection of the rings.
