Broadband Reflector with Chirped Grating
- SiN/SiO - based waveguide structure with a surface - relief grating
- 200 periods
- Cosine-shaped chirp: p = 0.44...0.47 µm
- Addition of local stop-bands!
VMM model:
- 100k unknowns, occupies ~500 MB RAM
- Execution time: ~40 sec / wavelength-point on a computer with a 2.4 GHz CPU
- Our VMM - model ist able to describe effects like:
- directional behavior;
- insertion losses due to field-mismatch at the grating interfaces;
- parasitic Fabry-Perot resonances
