DECOS (subproject): EMC Investigations of Time Triggered Bus Systems

The Information Technologies Division is currently leading the integrated FP 6 project DECOS. In the frame of this project the business unit Mobile Communications Safety participates in the development of a test bench to support the EMC validation and certification of dependable embedded systems consisting of DECOS components and bus cables. Certification is not an objective of DECOS, but to demonstrate certifyability.

Time-Triggered Architecture (TTA) was designed as a computer architecture for safety critical applications where fault tolerance and hard real-time behaviour are vital. The goal of the EMFI fault injection is to validate how the electromagnetic disturbances affect the operation of the system under test. Emissions of bus systems shall be considered, too. The requirements are based on automotive, aerospace and industrial standards.
