The MECU is a compact control unit, designed to operate electric motors and magnetic actuators. Using the TMS320F2811 DSP from Texas Instruments, a powerful core for control engineering applications, helps to realise control applications. The module is very small in size to enable the integration directly on the drive, which shall be controlled. The ambient temperature range from -40°C up to +85°C which allows the usage under harsh environmental conditions.
Programming of the module is enabled via a standard JTAG port and the connection with the Code Composer Studio makes code development and rapid prototyping very fast and simple.
The supply voltage can vary from 9V to 18V which is optimally suited for automotive use.
The integrated CAN interface with onboard driver electronics is connected to the front side connectors and makes it possible to built up a control network.

The interface to the motor power stage consists of
The ground connection is done via the power stage connector, to establish a central ground point.
