The heart failure telemonitoring system ELICARD supports communication between physicians and heart failure patients. For the first time, patients at the Hospital Krankenhaus der Elisabethinen Linz are additionally monitored at home using telemedicine.

ELICARD is based on lessons learned from the clinical trial MOBITEL (MOBIle phone based TELemonitoring for heart failure patients). Additionally, the current ESC Guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology are considered.
